SOFTGRID LTD. / DGNB SERVICE PROVIDER CHINA
I am founding director of SoftGrid Ltd. in Shanghai offering Architecture, Urban Planning and Sustainability Consulting across China since 2008. We have developed a sustainability workflow "from the first line on paper" for all our design projects and a holistic, synergistic and individual approach to future-proof projects based on DGNB as an optimization toolbox.
A DGNB Worldwide Auditor and ESG Consultant myself, I have been appointed the first DGNB AMBASSADOR with SoftGrid acting as official DGNB SERVICE PROVIDER in China since 2023.
SoftGrid has audited on various projects from an (undisclosed) R&D center (2016), Sanxiang Headquarter (2017), a DGNB Feasibility Study for Saic-VW (2018) and Ardex Headquarter (2029) to currently ongoing DGNB certification projects in Suzhou, Changzhou, Nanning and Shenzhen (all 2024), including residential, office and production facilities. In Tianjin, SoftGrid has audited the first ever PHI Passive House high-rise in Asia (certified 2019).
As official DGNB Service Provider, we have re-launched the DGNB CHINA COMMUNITY for all interested professionals, support, develop and provide local DGNB trainings (welcoming also local partners), collect China-specific feedback for DGNB system development and offer a co-creation platform for individual sustainability standards development.
I strongly believe, sustainable design is not just a necessity but a virtue. An immersive storyline, which needs to be written, nurtured, quantified and qualified to develop a big picture vision all stakeholders can assemble behind. As a result, our approach creates highly individual solutions to every single project - generating immediate added value while aligning with 2030/60 China climate targets.

This includes stakeholder and target analysis, potentials and trade-offs in DGNB certification, optimization benefits and benchmarks as well as a robust project setup and creation of milestones. This includes a synergistic, holistic pre-assessment to quantify benefits and individual KPIs in data-driven simulations, including project-specific environmental, economic and socio-cultural targets. Certification is never the target, only the tool to create future-proof spatial environments users, owners and facility managers love in their day-to-day routine.
