Day 2 of DGNB at Expo Real saw another world premiere: the presentation and awarding of the first seven pilot projects for our new certification for existing districts. A total of over 100 projects were presented over the two days of the trade fair.
There was also plenty else on offer:
BNP Paribas Real Estate presented the latest market figures for the green building market in Germany, clear evidence of the growing importance of certified buildings and the DGNB's role as market leader.
In a panel discussion, the myth of alleged additional costs of sustainable construction and associated certification was refuted.
In addition, the starting signal was given for the cooperation between the DGNB and Allergy Friendly Buildings Alliance GmbH (AFBA) and its special award, as well as a panel discussion that highlighted the relevance of existing buildings and the forward-looking approach to dealing with them.
Last but not least, it became clear once again that sustainability, climate protection, and ESG are by no means losing importance. Rather, many companies are now calmly, professionally, and naturally treating them as core tasks.
